Memories

Once
They were colossal thoughts
Vintage memories
Subtle savour of the novice
Breeze.
An Idealist; A Romantic.
Now
Droplets freeze eyelids,
my palms
Swollen beats, breaths;
Voice of sanity buried deep
Along rage, my ribs.
Dark existence glares, shares
My blood, a Cynic’s betrayals.
Now
Old sheets burn beneath pale
White pile of evolved stacks
In silenced denial of a poet’s
fierce heart.
