Nights

And, the last two nights
were the darkest.
Darkest of all nights;
absorbsed in melancholia
and your absence.
Your absence marks a phase;
my hollow soul hangs
between unknown hands
and you, my love, resonate.
You resonate in twisting
and turning of my body;
voices echo in beats
surrealistically,
I couldn’t sleep with demons
whispering secrets in my head.

And now, another dusk,
another sleepless night.
Another night, another
tale of misery to unfold.
I sit still with life happening
to me, without fail
unlike you, my love,
who happened vigorously
sewing unforgettable memories
onto my parched skin.
I sit paralysed with night soaking
me into its disposition.
Tonight,
I cannot sleep with demons
whispering secrets in my head.

  1. Don’t ” love” live life, should be the slogan for 2018-19 atleast.
    Such a great read, poignant and full with emotion and mastery of words. Loved it.
    One thing don’t listen to the whispers of demons, they are the staunchest enemies of Human. I Pray to the Creator of heavens and the earth’s to grant you wisdom and power.

      1. Haha. I feel I’m done with dark and love poetries for now.
        I should explore other dimensions of writing too. That’s how poems like “Hypocrite” happens. Lol.

      2. Well trust me hypocrite is a revolutionary. And thing is, I am feeling the same way these days. I feel like I want to transition. Maybe I will just lay low of WordPress and explore other areas of writing. Like story-poetry or….on subjects such as depression. Humor. I love humor as well. You should try it. Dome of the humorous stuff that I have written just makes me gush. But maybe that’s smug. Any who….growing is what natters I guess

      3. Humour is something I’m very keen on trying to do. And you do humour pretty well, Hurain!
        I really, really feel the need to transition, just like you. Story,poetry,hindi poetry,posts dedicated to my personal views on political,economical and social issues, some diary entries, etc. I want to try it all! I don’t want to get stagnant in doing only one genre, especially when I have the liberty to express myself in different writing forms.
        Let’s grow together! We need to improve now!
